The Labor Congress in Nigeria, and the Trade Union which makes up the Organized Labor have halted the strike for five days.

Very soon, they will issue a statement explaining their reasons.
However, negotiations will continue shortly for a better minimum wage for civil servants.
According to the PUNCH, a meeting was organized, in which the Organized labor deliberated with the Government for six hours.
The federal government reiterated that President Bola Tinubu remains committed to providing a higher quality of life for Nigerians.
Moreover, it is in his interest to increase the 60,000 minimum wage.
Therefore, to that effect, there will be a tripartite committee that will look into the matter.
The Committee will hold meetings daily this coming week till an agreeable Minimum wage is adopted for the Nation.
Therefore, the organized labor concurred and decided that an immediate meeting would be necessary to consider the offer.
Minister Idris Mohammed and Minister Nkeiruka Onyejeocha signed the conclusions of the meeting.
Talks for Minimum Wage Negotiation to Continue Today
The meeting between the government and organized labor took place in the office of the Federation’s Secretary.
It was an urgent action needed to solve a problem that was about crippling the nation.
The industrial action of a few days already paralyzing many different sectors of the economy.
The Labor Congress President, Joe Ajaero, and the Trade Union President, Festus Osifo represented organized labor.
After both parties came to some resolution, the meeting ended.
However, the government has agreed to resume talks with organized Labor concerning the Minimum Wage topic.
The PUNCH came across the invite to the meeting, and it was addressed to the Labor leaders.
This invite to the 8th meeting was scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Area 11, Abuja by 10 am.
Nigerian Minister of Information and National Orientation called for more minimum wage negotiations.
He seriously worried about the crippling effect of the strike.
He said that the proposed minimum wage by organized labor would amount to N9.5 trillion.
The proposed amount is a 1547% increase to the existing wage.
