Buhari Urges Nigerians to Give Their Utmost Support to Tinubu

President Tinubu has recently completed his first year in office as the president of Nigeria.

For this reason, the former president of the country has extended his warm regards and best wishes to him, calling out his success.

Muhammadu Buhari made a statement on Tuesday the 28th of May.

Here, he urged all the citizens of the country to continue to give their firm support to the sitting president.

Buhari asked that every Nigerian should stay steadfast in strengthening the thread of national goodwill and unity.

Additionally, he mentioned that Tinubu needs their support to build the nation our dreams, and they all need to render it to him.

Buhari further said that if Nigerians want the country to get better, then there is no other way other than supporting Tinubu.

In his speech, he expressed that he wishes the tenure of the present administration to be a success.

More so, he said he wants it to be one that will make Nigeria great.

This means Buhari is in support of the policies the president is making and the direction he is leading the country.

Former President Obasanjo Doesn’t agree with Tinubu’s Policies

Aside from Buhari, another former president who recently spoke about the administration and policies of Tinubu is Olusegun Obasanjo.

But unlike Buhari, he doesn’t agree with the policies. He made a statement on Sunday, the 26th of May.

Here he mentioned that the policy of the current administration on fuel subsidy removal is strongly affecting the economy of the country.

Also, he talked about the policy on foreign exchange.

He said these policies are pushing away foreign investors, which in turn leaves the economy of the country to lag.

Furthermore, he said that the administration did not implement these policies rightly, even if they were necessary.

According to him, “The present administration has not found the right way to handle the country’s economy to engender trust and confidence for investors to troop in.”

This has caused an uproar in the camp of the APC, the ruling party.

Some of the members have come out to say that the former president, Obasanjo supports the policies, disregarding other parts of his statement.
