Chinese Leader Xi Jinping Calls for Peace Conference Over War in Gaza As Arab Leaders Visit


Chinese Leader Xi Jinping cried out for peace and justice concerning the tremendous suffering in Gaza and the Middle East. This occurred during the visit of Arab leaders to Beijing this week.

Aside from his outcry for those in the Middle East, he also expressed concerns over the ongoing Israel war in Gaza.

The conflict between Palestine and Israel has not reduced since last October when it started. This conflict has kept the people in great suffering and hunger.

Xi said at the meeting on Thursday, that war should not be indefinite, and justice shouldn’t be absent forever.

This meeting was attended by top diplomats from China and the Arab states and several leaders from the region.

According to Xi, he wanted them to establish an independent Palestinian state. In addition, he reiterated that Beijing was in support of a more broad-based, authoritative, and effective international peace conference.

This diplomatic gathering in Beijing is as Israel’s war in Gaza threatens to linger creating global attention.

Israel’s forces intensify by the day in the enclave’s southern city of Rafah creating more humanitarian crises.

Chinese Wang Yi and his visiting counterparts have adopted a “joint statement on the Palestinian issue” in the ministerial meeting. The Chinese state media reported it, however, the text is not yet available.

Due to China’s intention to deepen its ties with the Middle East, it has aligned with the Arab world, criticizing Israel.

New Era of China-Arab Relations, Model for Maintaining World Peace and Stability – Xi

In Xi’s remark, he hailed the desire for a new era of China-Arab relations. He added that it could be a model for maintaining world peace and stability in this turbulent world.

Also, for peaceful relations to exist, there has to be mutual respect and lasting security built on fairness and justice.

The Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and the UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited China for this ministerial meeting.

Other dignitaries in that meeting include Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Tunisian President Kais Saied.

Delegates from 22 Arab states also joined in the meeting held at Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
