The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared a public holiday on Wednesday, June 12, commemorating the country’s democracy day.
On Tuesday, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Nigerians on the celebrations.
He did so via a statement from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
In the statement, the Minister urged Nigerians to reflect on the efforts of their founding fathers and ensure a peaceful and indivisible entity.
Also, he advised Nigerians to stand steadfast on the principles of democratic governance.
Additionally, he reminded Nigerians that President Tinubu is committed to positively reforming the country’s economy.
Furthermore, the Minister urged Nigerians and friends of the country to see and appreciate the achievements so far.
He encourages them to anticipate a better future for Nigeria’s democracy.
Federal Government Unrolls its Activities for Democracy Day
In the spirit of democracy commemoration, the federal government has disclosed its lineup of activities.
Moreover, it drew up the events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
Abdulhakeem Adeoye announced this in a notice on behalf of the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Celebrations will begin on Tuesday, June 11, in Abuja at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa.
A symposium will take place at 9 am. Prompt.
Afterward, there will be a youth conference at Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel Abuja, at 6 pm.
Later, celebrations will kick off on Wednesday, June 12, with a grand parade at Eagle Square, Abuja, by 8 am.
The event will end with a dinner at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja, at 6 pm.
However, according to the notice of these events, only accredited Villa correspondents will be allowed to cover the events at the Presidential Villa.
