Giovanni Pernice will not be dancing at the 2024 BBC Strictly Come Dancing.
BBC excluded his name from the list of Celebrity dancers.
Pernice’s exemption came weeks after he denied reports of his teaching method.
Moreover, he denied being abusive during dancing lessons.
Amy Dowden is among the returning dancers in Strictly Come Dancing.
However, she was absent in the last season due to cancer treatment.
Furthermore, Amy, in her Monday Instagram post, said, “So happy and grateful to be back”.
She recently had a mastectomy due to tumor growth. Moreover, the dancer now has a clean health card.
Giovanni Pernice Defends Himself Amidst Allegations
Pernice said in a statement that he would do everything to clear his name regarding allegations about his teaching.
Also, he thanked all his fans for their loyalty.
Pernice says, “No one is more ambitious for my dance partners than me.”
However, he stated that his passion and solid competitive spirit when dancing.
Giovanni further spoke of helping other dancers be the best version of themselves.
Recall that legal counsel Carter Ruck contacted BBC last month.
It was because of Giovanni Pernice’s alleged dancing conduct.
Shortly after, BBC released a statement on the media reports about a “high-profile show.”
BBC promised to handle all complaints about Pernice’s style of teaching.
Meanwhile, Giovanni Pernice has been a part of the BBC One dancing contest ever since 2015.
He won the contest dancing with Rose Ayling-Ellis in 2021.
Pernice dance partner in the 2023 dance series was Amanda Abbington.
Amanda was unable to complete the series with Piernice for personal reasons.
Rumors are ongoing that Amanda withdrew from the last series due to a strained relationship with Pernice.
Meanwhile, she has not made an official statement regarding the matter.
