In a recent interview, Nigerian singer Tems expressed her opinions on love, opposing the idealized notion that love is blind.
She stressed that true love means seeing and accepting each other’s faults and difficulties rather than turning a blind eye.
She said that love is not blind, and if you love blindly, it’s not love.
Tems Makes a Shocking Revelation About What Love is to Her.
Tems freshly made headlines with her new single “Love Me Jeje,” one of her upcoming albums, “Born in the Wild.”
The song is an interpretation of the 1997 classic by Seyi Sodium featuring Shaffy Bello.
The popular singer revealed that the inspiration to create the song came naturally during a studio session with her friends, where Seyi Sodium’s classic was freestyled and played.
While the song centers on love, the singer revealed that she has never been in love with anyone. However, she would love to experience love one day.
Also, she told popular YouTuber Korty EO that love is not blind, but to her, it is something you feel with your eyes wide open.
To Tems, if you love blindly, then it’s not love.
To Tems, loving someone to her is more like, “I see you and still want to be in your life.”
Further, she said love makes you one to be with someone despite their annoying behavior.
When asked if she is open to meeting and accepting new people, Tems said that she can always tell the intentions of men towards her.
“The thing is, I know their intentions most of the time. They have one intention, like most guys.
They’re very obvious, so how can I trust this conversation we’re having? It’s not even real. Everything you say is fake,” Tems reveals.
Tems went ahead to describe her ideal partner.
She said she prefers someone who is emotionally intelligent, funny, spiritually adept, inclined, and mature. She challenged the men who like her to prove it.
