Israeli Eden Golan’s “Hurricane” performance at the Eurovision Song Contest got drowned with boos. The crowd cried out with the words “Free Palestine”.
Activists on the scene of the event said it was quite disturbing. Many present during Golan’s performance said the boos were horrible.
However, Golan received a lot of death threats before her appearance on stage.
The 20-year music talent of Israel’s descent was raised in Russia.
Those against Golan are calling for Israel’s ban from the competition. This they say is necessary with the 33,000 Palestine deaths.

European Broadcasting Union Gives Permit on Peaceful Protest
EBU had earlier said that it would allow onlookers to peacefully protest. The jury further said it is a firm believer in freedom of speech.
Shin Bet has warned Golan not to step out of her room except for the performance.
This he said was to ensure her safety. Despite all the threats around Golan says she is getting the needed support.
Almost 20,000 protesters have entered the city in protest of Israeli inclusion in this annual event. The Swedish police plan to get the backing of Norway and Denmark forces.
The officers on duty on the days of Golan’s performance will be carrying heavy weapons. This is because the planned protest may lead to unrest and terrorism.
European Broadcasting Union threw away Golan’s first song “There is no Air to Breathe”. The song however spoke about the attack on Hamas. Golan does think that the song wasn’t political.
Eden’s song “Hurricane” tells the story of a woman struggling with personal crises. Her last song submission has quite the same lyrics but is more generic.
Golan has yet to make a negative statement on the judges turning down her first song.
