Georgia prosecutors accused American Rapper Jeffery Lamar Williams, also known as Young Thug, of co-founding a street gang.
Young Thug is facing trial with 27 others.
Moreover, Thug is also standing trial with five others for drug, gun, and gang crimes.
Judge Ural Glanville will no longer precede over the case involving Young Thug at the Fulton County Superior Court.
He has been replaced with Shukura Ingram.
The court decided to change the preceding judge because Judge Glanville met privately with prosecutors and the key witness.
Moreover, Young Thug and co-defendant Deamonte Kendrick requested a change in judge, fearing misconduct in the charges.
The defendants accused Judge Glanville of meeting with prosecutors unofficially.
However, Judge Glanville said his meeting with the prosecutors was proper and was not to anyone’s advantage.
Judge Rachel Krause faulted him, stating he should not have privately met with prosecutors.
Furthermore, Judge Krause said, “no doubt that Judge Glanville can and would continue presiding fairly over this matter.”
However, she told the court granted the motion of the defendants for a new judge to increase public trust in the judiciary.
Also, Krause pointed out that Judge Glanville should have held his meeting with the prosecutors in court.
Consequently, the court assigned the Young Thug case to Judge Shukura Ingram.

Kendrick’s defense lawyer said they will likely request a mistrial due to the change in judge.
