On Tuesday, a federal high court judge ruled on Pascal Okechukwu, popularly called Cubana Chiefpriest alleged Naira abuse.
Justice Kehinde Ogundare read the charge following the settlement between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Cubana.
The EFCC arraigned Pascal Okechukwu on April 17, 2024, on a three-count charge of naira abuse.
The commission charged him with misusing and spraying money during an event at the Eko Hotel in Lagos.

However, Cubana Chiefpriest pleaded not guilty to all count charges.
The court adjourned the hearing to May 2.
In a subsequent hearing, the defense counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu, told the court that both parties desired a settlement.
He requested the court to apply the section 14(2) of the EFCC Act.
Following the request, the Lagos High Court adjourned the Cubana case to June 5.
However, the case was not heard on the scheduled date, as the defense counsel filed a motion for adjournment.
Finally, the court granted Cubana’s defense counsel its adjourned request of June 25 for the Cubana Naira.
Final Hearing on Cubana Chiefpriest Naira Abuse Case
At Tuesday’s hearing, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari stood as the prosecution counsel.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chikaosolu (SAN) represented the defense counsel.
Mrs. Bilikisu informed the court that all terms of settlement filed by the prosecution on June 24 are valid.
The defense counsel responded in the affirmative to the prosecution counsel’s words.
Furthermore, the defense counsel, Mr. Chikaosolu, thanked the court for its indulgence and urged the dismissal of the case.
The court struck out the Cubana Chiefpriest case with the EFCC based on the agreement reached by both parties.
Additionally, the court ordered Cubana Chiefpriest to pay N10 million to the consolidated revenue fund of the federation.
