If Bayer Leverkusen and Atalanta win their next games, we should have Boniface, Tella, and Lookman at the Aviva stadium.

Leverkusen lost to Roma at this competition stage 12 months ago.

However, they took a giant leap towards either Atalanta BC or Marseille in the Europa League. This way they took out the 2-0 winners at the Stadio Olimpico.

Leverkusen has matched Benfica’s longstanding European record, set around December 1963 till February 1965.

Looking at the other semi-final game where Atalanta was supposed to win their first silverware in 61 years.

Nigerian star Lookman has led Atalanta to their first-ever Europa League title by defeating Marseille 3-0 at full-time.

The young star is part of the team that has continued its unbeaten record, extending it to 11 matches.

Leverkusen to Face Atalanta at the Europa League finals

After the 3-0 win against Liverpool and defeating Marseille in the semifinals, Atalanta will play Leverkusen in the final.

In this game, Atalanta’s Lookman will face fellow Nigerians Boniface and Tella in a battle for the cup.

Other Nigerians doing well in the European games include Victor Moses, Mikel Obi, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey.

Victor Moses who plays forward for Spartak Moscow is the only Nigerian who has won the League twice. He did this in 2012/2013 and in 2018/2019 when he was a Chelsea player.

In 2018/19, they defeated Arsenal their eternal rivals with a 4-1 win, in which Alex Iwobi scored the only goal for Arsenal.

Mikel Obi also won the League when he played for Chelsea in 2012/13.

Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo were runners-up in 2022 when Glasgow Rangers lost to Eintracht Frankfurt by penalties.
