The deputy controller of the Lagos Kirikiri Maximum Correctional Center, Michael Anugwa has revealed that Bobrisky stayed in a separate cell in Prison.
Moreover, Martins Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan alleged that Prison officials placed Bobrisky outside the Kirikiri Correctional Center.
Reacting to VeryDarkMan’s claim, Michael Anugwa addressed the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions.
Mr. Michael Anugwa insisted that crossdresser the did not spend his six-month prison sentence outside Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Michael Anugwa said a warrant and transfer order from the Ikoyi Correctional Facility on April 13, 2024, enabled Bobrisky’s entry into the Correctional Center.
Furthermore, Anugwa told the House Committee that he received a warrant on the same day as Bobrisky’s conviction. Michael Anugwa added that prison officials took Bobrisky’s biometrics data on April 14, 2024.
The deputy controller said Okuneye Idris, popularly called Bobrisky, spent ten days at the Lagos State Medium Correctional Center before moving to the Maximum facility.
Moreover, Anugwa added that Bobrisky refused to eat the food provided by the prison.
Welfare Concerns Prompt Bobrisky Preferential Treatment
The deputy controller told members of the House Committee that Bobrisky applied for self-feeding.
Moreover, he revealed that Bobrisky chose Moji and Abiola Ogunleye to bring food for him at the correctional center.
Furthermore, Michael Anugwa revealed that although Idris had the male reproductive organ, he had breasts which prompted prison officials to place him in a separate cell.
According to the deputy commissioner, Bobrisky received thirty-nine visitors during his six-month stay at Kirikiri Correctional Center.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo inaugurated a panel to probe allegations on Bobrisky on September 30, 2024.
Notably, the minister added that there is a dire need to reform the Lagos Kirikiri Correctional Center.
