Watford Will Not Extend the Loan Deal for Dennis

Published:

According to PUNCH Sports Extra reports, the Watford loan deal with Nigerian Winger Emmanuel Dennis will not be extended.

The six-month loan deal from Nottingham Forest will expire at the end of the Championship season. Therefore, the Hornets would have to let go of Dennis.

A Watford observer pointed out that some decisions are yet to be made by Tom Cleverley on players like Dennis, Ben Hamer, and Jake Livermore, who are Out-of-contract players.

The chances that Watford will keep the Nottingham striker along with defender Jamal Lewis of Newcastle are low.

Dennis currently deals with a massive 70% pay cut as he returned to his former club Watford. He has appeared in 18 games since then and scored four goals.

Also, one of his victories includes winning at Birmingham in Cleverley’s first game as the Interim head coach.

Earlier, Dennis had scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists in 33 games in his debut for Watford in the 2021/22 Premier League.

However, he later moved to Nottingham Forest in August 2022, where he netted twice in 19 matches for the club.

Dennis is Determined Forest will Stay up in the Premier League Despite Relegation Struggles

The 27-year-old Nigerian believes that Nottingham Forest will climb to a relevant level, despite currently being in relegation.

Although they lost 3-2 to Chelsea last Saturday, with just a point, they would qualify for a third successive season in the Premier League.

They are presently sitting at the 17th position and have gotten 29 points so far from their 37 games. But they sit three points above Luton Town who need about 12 goals to improve their goal difference.

In order to achieve that, Luton Town must win their next two games.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Dennis expressed that he had a lot of confidence in his teammates from the club. He says that they are going to stay, he knows them, and they are his friends.

Though he honestly cannot fathom why they are at that current position in the league, it is not that way.

He expects the club to be higher in the table because they have quality and talented players.
